#lostmedia #mystery #1980s #cassettetape #powerballad #hardrock #retro #geocities just a straight-ahead rocker. No frills, no ballads, just loud guitars and a massive chorus. This is the kind of track you'd hear blasting out of a Trans Am on a Friday night.

Artist: Nova Hart
Song: Crimson Horizon

The banners rise, the anthem swells,
A victory no one dares to tell.
The sky is painted in their name,
But something burns beneath the flame.

Marching forward, flags held high,
But truth is hidden from the eye.

Crimson horizon, endless song,
Tells us where we all belong.
But behind the shining claim,
I see the color isn’t the same.

Crowds are marching, flags are high,
Every voice rehearsed to comply.
Still I feel the hidden cost,
Something gained, but something lost.

Glory hides a quiet scar,
Victory’s not who we are.

Crimson horizon, endless song,
Tells us where we all belong.
But behind the shining claim,
I see the color isn’t the same.

Crimson sky begins to fade,
Truth is stronger than parade.
On the edge where banners fall,
I see the cost behind it all.

Source: Digital Audio Tape (DAT) Master
Notes: This DAT master had exceptional quality. The song feels like a direct commentary on the 'Unity Day' parades that were broadcast every year. The lyrics about a 'crimson horizon' and 'banners' are almost too on-the-nose for a mainstream broadcast track. Makes you wonder if the message was intentional, or if it just slipped past the censors.
